This comic is the first portrait in The Age of Transitions comic series. I plan on doing more. The style of this portrait is different than what I had initially planned for the comic. Future portraits will likely be more stylized and cartoonish. I was so excited after interviewing Tea that I decided to draw this portrait of Richard/The Phantom Patriot. It is basically taken directly from a photo that Richard had taken of himself in one of his super hero costumes.
I had fun with the background in this image. Richard lived in Pahrump, Nevada. I collected reference photos of the area to make the drawing. The upside down flag was also an element in another photo of Richard wearing a variant super hero costume of The Phantom Patriot.
Richard’s YouTube channel is still online and worth checking out. His videos are genuinely entertaining.
