So, well, I I hope I can see some Mets games on Peacock then because I get I got nothing. I had to wait on YouTube for the highlights to come out which was pretty funny because uh first inning there was highlights in the Mets opener, you know, in the bottom and the top of the half of the inning. So, it was funny.
The Met the Mets blew them away in the first game. I could tell you that. Absolutely. 10 to seven.
And they spanked. It was like 11 to five. They spanked the Sai Young award winner, too.

I was watching. Had my shirt on with him. You have a P You have a Pirates shirt.
No, no, not a pirate shirt. Uh, the Dodger shirt.
Yeah, you got Yamamoto. I’m talking about Paul Sk. Yeah. Y They didn’t play against the Dodgers. They played against the Pirates and the guy who won the Sai Young, right?
The National League Sai Young winner last year was Paul Ske. Oh, right.
Yeah. So, he’s that Yeah. He’s the young pitcher for the Pirates. See, I’m just learning this stuff again because I haven’t been following baseball, but now I am following it pretty good.
I didn’t know who was, but mostly through highlights. Yeah.
So, but they knocked him out of the first in the first inning and scored five runs on the first.
Yeah. Yeah. That’s what I saw. That’s what I saw. Yeah. I saw that hole. This guy’s not going to last but one inning.
And and what came through and it came true. I remember one inning. What’s going on here? Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom.
Hitting them off the wall on the PL part. That’s going crazy.
Yeah. Well, two mistakes in the outfield, too. I mean, the center fielder lost the ball in the sun twice. So, you know, kind of helped a little.
Did you see that part?
Yeah. Yeah. He was trying to find him and find it and he couldn’t see it and it went right in front of him. Boom.
Plus the dummy had no sunglasses on. You know, you you’re playing at like noon time in New York. You got no sunglasses on. What’s wrong with you? You got to have I’ve seen every player on the outfield had at least a pair of glasses on them or with them on out the field.
For Pete’s sakes, that’s the first thing you ever think you would take out. I mean, even a sunny day, of course, like it was, right? They do it for gez.
You expect they’re either wearing those goggles, right, where they, you know, got a strap around the back of their head or they got those flip down shades usually. And at the very least, they they put the black under the eyes that’s supposed to help like minimize the sun, too.
But I I don’t know if that works to be honest.
Uh that I think it dashes up the eyeballs if you tell me.
Oh, the black face paint stuff like You ever see that’s anti-reflective is what that the idea behind that is.
I don’t know what it is.
Yeah. A lot of a a lot of guys in a lot of sports do that. You see it in football and baseball especially, right, where you got outdoor sports. And uh they claim that it cuts down like sunglasses. Now, personally, I’m thinking if I was going to play the outfield, I’d rather wear the sunglasses. And at the very least, the flip down ones, you know, the easiest ones. And then they are the easiest ones. Just flip it down and you know. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You got to have something.
This guy didn’t have he had nothing on out there and he lost the ball twice in the first inning. I mean it was hilarious. So, you know, but uh Pirates came apart. So, but the Mets often win opening game days though. They they lost their first eight opening days in in their team’s existence and then after that they’ve got the best winning percentage in baseball on opening day.
Uh they always win opening day it seems like. But you know then they disappoint me later in the season. That’s usually the pattern. But they say they had a pretty good they got a pretty good team this year.
They going to see how far they can get to it. So I I hope so. But many years I have watched and you know they had the great team and they they hired the big guy.
They they signed the big player. The worst one ever was Bobby Bonia. But you know they they did stuff like that. The Mets the Mets were a disaster.
Bobby I know you have a Bobby Bonia card in your collection, Uncle. I saw that in it. You do?
Yeah, you do have one. You have at least one of those. I remember seeing it. Yeah. Oh, so you’re lucky there that you got that card.
I didn’t see that. Maybe that’s worth something. I don’t know. Could be.
Make a necklace out of that one for I could have done that though. The Bobby Bonia necklace. Bobby.

The the past few years, that’s for sure. Absolutely. Yeah, they’re always in it. So, yeah, Dodgers don’t disappoint.
But, uh, yeah, it’s it’s going to be a a fun season. I I work with a guy, he gets all hyped up right as soon as spring training. He actually went down last week for the last week of spring training uh to, you know, he’s a Mariners fan. He lives up here with me. So, anyway, uh, yeah, I I can’t I I don’t like spring training. I don’t start following it during spring training so much because all I can think of is, oh, please don’t let these guys get injured before the season starts. Yeah. Yeah.
They wouldn’t even put them on the m into the spring training following it. But now the season’s on. I’m all ined.

I have no idea cuz I don’t do that one, but yeah. Yeah, I listen to it. And actually, they’re playing right now, but I’ve been listening to you guys. I haven’t put the game on.

But then they sold the team right around then and you know that kind of was heartening, you know, and I I’ve been back into baseball since then. And then those guys though, those owners were laundering money through the team and they had to sell because MLB made them.
But the guys that bought the Dodgers now, they they seem to be like it’s their fantasy baseball and they love baseball. So it’s it’s all different now.
So the Mets, man, the Mets, this could be their year, right? I mean, they ditched you know, they ditched a couple of good players, but you know, so people were getting upset, but I see what they did. They put together a lot of contact people. They put, you know, Bett in there and everything else. They’re going to whack the ball all over the field. Oh, they picked up They picked up Bette.

Like, what the hell are these goofballs doing? They throw the bean bags at these things.
They’d be killing themselves. Well, well, no, this is the bean bag version. This is the light version. the the new cornhole game that we’re guessing replaced lawn darts. I think in a way it probably did.
Oh, but I remember seeing it then first.

Well, I just figured that was the corn. Who can be a cornhorn champion? It made sense to me cuz it again my first uh interaction with the game was a bunch of drunk people at like frat parties playing a game. It’s like of course they gave it a dumb name like that. Uh like a perverse name because they’re bunch of drunk weirdos play this game.
And so that was like in the ear like around the year 2000. Yeah. Exactly.

It’s similar to a lot of those weird like they made baseball and they made that one about dodgeball and they were all those comedy movies. I could have seen it definitely being made for sure.

The Lart film would have to be rated R though because you you know there’s going to be some violence in there. Of course. Important.
Oh, there definitely have to be blood because there’s going to be all kinds of accidents and incidents.

You show a kid blowing off his hand and for the rest of the movie, it’s the one-handed friend, right? You show another kid and sometimes we played with ninja stars, boom, somebody gets hit in the eye with a ninja star and they try to sort that out. Oh my god. You know, as they’re growing up, like in a montage. And then, you know, some of us decided to drive and he drives into the side of the house, this and that. But the worst thing we ever did was get involved with the underground of lawn darts.

What we got, what we got here is a weapon that we used as a game. Never thought never thought that this would happen, but it did with these darts throwing them all over the place.
When I was in the fifth grade, me and this this other kid, we uh took apart a pair of the school scissors. Yep.
And we sharpened them up. And we we put a target on the wall in a in a this is in Minnesota so the schools are all indoors.
Y and there was a room that wasn’t being used and we would slip over there and put a target on the wall and we would we would throw our scissors at the target that we took apart and sharpened up.
Reminds me of that. Now see you’re making shanks in Minnesota.
That’s funny. Um, I got one last thing to add to this, though. And I I don’t know if I can get it out without cracking up. Oh my god. All right. So So the underground lawn dart scene goes on, right? And then there’s Never mind. It doesn’t matter.
This whole thing, this whole premise is perfect. I’m telling you, man. We We should definitely pitch this to somebody. This Let’s see. What’s the What’s the punch line? What’s the punch line?
Writing a story and then we can make a script out of it. Whatever, man. What’s the punch line? Pretty good guy.
